Tool Force A-SD3 1.3 Amp 5-Inch Random Orbit Sander

The unit includes 1 dust bag, 1 sanding paper. 1.3 Amp motor. Maximum speed: 12,000 RPM. 110volt, 60 Hz.
Customer Review: Adequate cheap sander
I bought this because I needed a 5" sander to use with Microplane discs. I own a AEG 6" random orbit sander and wanted a low cost unit to try out the Microplane discs. This unit worked fine except for the dust collector. The dust collector falls off but I was able to get it to stay on with some tape. The bag is so thin that it actually had a hole in in from brushing agaist the surface I was sanding after about an hour of use. If you aren't concerned about dust collection, this unit is fine.

Bosch 3725DEVS 3.3 Amp 5-Inch Random Orbit Variable Speed Sander with Dust Canister

An exceptionally smooth start gives you a great first impression, and the more you use this sander, the more impressed youll be with its eager 3.3 amp motor and Boschs Constant Response circuitry, which maintains constant speed under load. It uses hook-and-loop discs, far more durable than the adhesive kind, and the pad-dampening system helps prevent swirl marks. Theres very little vibration in hand, giving you beautiful control. Adding to that is the ergonomic soft-grip front handle, which is easily detachable for maneuvering into tight spaces. The two-finger trigger is comfortable and smooth, and the lock button engages quickly and easily without contorting your hand. Variable speed adjusts at the turn of the thumb wheel, and the motor handles even abrupt changes like a dream. Boschs new Microfilter is a great improvement over the previous cloth dust bags, too.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste
Customer Review: Excellent General Purpose Random Orbit Sander
I've owned this sander for over two years now and have used it on a number of projects. I'm a big fan of Bosch and own several various tools from the company. Bosch's quality is outstanding in my opinion. This sander is no exception. I chose the 5" over the larger 6" because the slightly smaller size is more appropriate for general purpose work on furniture (again, my opinion). This slightly smaller sander is a little lighter and easier to manage. The 6" is nice if you're working on large projects, but is unnecessarily large for most of my woodworking needs. As other's have said, no RO sander will do everything, a smaller detail sander is still necessary for corners, etc. But for general use, this sander is exceptional. The variable speed is a must have for controlling the rate of removal and comes in very handy when working on sensitive areas. It is ergonomically comfortable to use with well designed handles. The canister dust collection is outstanding, although it must be cleaned often while using or it will start backing up and its effectiveness becomes considerably diminished. There is an available adapter for connection to a vacuum, which of course enables superior dust collection, but for all but large projects or constant use, the canister works just fine. Bottom Line: I have several sanders and this is the one I always reach for first. I highly recommend it.
Customer Review: bogus
This is actually a review I wrote for the Bosch planer. But as I already had written a previous review It would not allow a 2nd one. So I am writing it here. I think some of these reviews are fake. After cmy problems with this planer I noticed that some of the other reviews were so glowing. so I clicked on " Ted Peterson". Surprise, surprise. He has made 8 reviews. All 8 were Bosch products!! All 8 were rated 5 star!! And all 8 were gushy in their praising of Bosch perfection. All 8 repeatedly mentioned the Bosh name and could not find ONE bad thing to mention in the performance of 11 tools. Have you ever bought 11 perfect tools? Same for " Skip Morris". 9 reviews. 9 Bosch tools ( and nothing else). Nine 5 star reviews. Nine Bosch love affairs. I think they work for Bosch.

Fein MOL1200E 10.2 Amp 8-Inch Random Orbit Sander with Vacuum Adaptor

Gets the job done in half the time. Covers 78% more surface area than a standard six-inch sander. End up with a smoother, better finish. This variable speed sander has an instantaneous electronic feedback system. This advanced electronic circuitry maintains constant RPM. No matter how much pressure you apply, you won't stall this tool. When you use the Fein sander with a Fein dust extractor, you capture 98% of the airborne dust created from sanding. Dust-free sanding provides a better finish. The sandpaper stays cooler and won't load with particulate or broken abrasive. And, sandpaper life is increased as much as 10 times.
Customer Review: Amazing
I purchased this sander because I was restoring a 150-yr-old pine floor and didn't want to remove 150 yrs of patina (just the paint and rough surfaces). Plus I wanted to hook the sander up to a HEPA vacuum to collect the lead paint dust. The sander is powerful and is aggressive. On softwoods it can't pick up all the dust, but it would have been much worse without this setup. I never would have bought this for my woodworking shop, but for large flat surfaces nothing beats this for doing an excellent job quickly. On hardwoods there is practically no dust. I love this machine for smoothing large flat surfaces. One reviewer noted that the on/off switch is placed in a poor location and can be accidentally shut off. I would agree, but you can get used to it. I own Dewalt and Bosch 6" sanders and they don't hold a candle to the Fein on large flat surfaces. You can buy sandpaper for this machine from Klingspor much cheaper.
Customer Review: Pass on this tool
I have been a carpenter and cabinet maker for over 30 years and have used many tools. For the money, this tool rates at the bottom. It has enormous vibration that will fatigue the user quickly and the on/off switch is put in the worst possible location. It is impossible to use this tool without inadvertently turning it off. It is one of the most annoying tools I have ever used. It does, however, do a decent job of dustless sanding, but at a stiff price both in money and comfort. Do yourself a huge favor and buy the Bosch 6 inch random orbit sander model 1250 DEVS. I bought the Bosch at the same time and use it over the Fein 9 times out of 10. And the Bosch is $500.00 cheaper. The Bosch has much less vibration and has a non orbit mode that takes material off fast and is much less fatiguing than the Fein.
